…as George Gershwin wrote perhaps a little optimistically back in 1935, but of course he wasn’t referring to the vagaries of the British Summer!
Never mind, whatever the weather has in store we shall carry on ignoring the elements and enjoy our Summer program.
Mayoral Visit & Centenarians Celebration

We are celebrating 3 centenarians this year and to mark the occassion, we have the 100th Mayor of Bournemouth visiting us at The Evergreens to join in the celebration. See our special luncheon menu here.
Minibus Outing to Shell Bay
Wednesday, 25th July, 2pm
The minibuses will depart from The Evergreens at 2pm and after a short tour of Bournemouth, the pier, seafront, gardens and Chines, we shall make our way through Canford Cliffs to the Sandbanks peninsula and cross the Chain Link Ferry to Shell Bay for our afternoon picnic by the seaside.
Chefs Marjorie and Noel will be accompanying the party to ensure we are offering a delicious fresh summer spread. The tour will continue into the Isle of Purbeck where we shall again park up to admire the beautiful panorama of Poole Harbour and Bournemouth Bay beyond and indulge in an ice-cream…who’s for double-scoop?
Homeward bound we will again cross the Sandbanks Ferry, drive alongside Poole Harbour and return to The Evergreens in time for Supper.
‘The Carousel Players’ with their production of “Summer Holiday”

Take a whirlwind tour and visit your favourite far-away places with sketches, songs and dance.
Relatives and friends are most welcome to join us for the performance which will start at 2.45pm and for afternoon tea with scones and home-made cakes after the performance.
