Here’s what we’ve got planned over the next few weeks:
- Resident’s trip to Mudeford Quay
- Centenial Birthdays
- Carousel Theatre’s – Summer Holiday Musical Production
A scenic drive via Hurn, the Avon Causeway, with sightings of the large swan colony on the banks of the Hampshire Avon, through picturesque Sopley with photo opportunities at the Church and Old Mill, before arriving at the Quay for our picnic lunch overlooking Christchurch Harbour.
After lunch, we park on the quayside to enjoy the views across the Christchurch race and out to sea and the Isle of Wight. An optional visit to the Mudeford Lifeboat Station to see the state of the art class B lifeboat, is followed by ice creams.
Our return journey will take us past Christchurch Priory (dating from 800 a.d.) and across both rivers Stour and Avon, out to the coast at Hengisbury Head and finally the cliff top drive at Boscombe to enjoy sweeping views of Bournemouth Bay.
Home to the Evergreens, for a special cold buffet supper with a glass of sherry or wine.
As last year we are delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate another Resident’s Centenary. We have no fewer than four residents who are a hundred and something so why not have a party/
There will be a formal luncheon at 12.30 for all the residents and their guests.
Showtime, “Summer Holiday”
The Carousel Theatre group will be visiting us again with their summer production Summer Holiday.
The show will start at 2.30 p m and will be followed by tea and cakes.
We hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us.
