Activities & Trips

We have an in-house activities co-ordinator providing a personalised programme.

The Evergreens runs a comprehensive entertainment programme run by our in-house activites co-ordinator Cheryl.

In less viral times, we also have visiting entertainers Creature Teachers, Singers as well as organised minibus outings.

The trips usually involve special access minibuses, taking those residents who wish to partake, to visit local sights and include a picnic lunch at our chosen destination. They prove very popular and we are glad to be able to offer these excursions as part of our activities program all included as part of the residential fees.

We also run special seasonal events, including summer garden parties and themed events such as our celebration for the 75th VE Day Celebrations and Royal Weddings. Take a look at our latest news page for more…
Past activities and trips have included:
  • Kingston Lacey snowdrops
  • Poole Harbour Christmas lights, sausage rolls and mulled wine
  • The Purbecks
  • Fish and chips in Mudeford
  • Historic Portsmouth tour
  • Barton on Sea
  • Shell Bay
  • Badbury Rings
Monthly vistors to The Evergreens include:
  • Caring Canines
  • Creature Teachers – Interactive Animal Encounters
  • Mark Anstead – Violinist
  • Alive! – Reminiscence
  • Carousel Theatre Company

Regular entertainers and visitors to The Evergreens

We are visited weekly by Caring Canines, for those who have an affection for our four legged friends, and we also have musical afternoons, light music from local entertainers, opera for those whose tastes are perhaps a little more serious, church gatherings with monthly Holy Communion and occasional outings.

Friends and relatives are always most welcome to join us with any of the activities and we are always open to suggestions and introductions to any new ideas for ways we may be able to have fun.
